USD comeback

The US dollar recovered some of its recent losses as market focus turns to key US events over the next few days.

The USDCNY bounced from one-week lows ahead of major news form the US Federal Reserve and the US employment markets.

Euro higher

The euro was stronger after report indicated the European Central Bank would look to raise EU rates in mid 2019.

The AUD was higher in yesterday’s trade after a stronger than expected reading from local retail sales.

Australian May retail sales gained 0.4% continuing a recent run of outperformance.

Fed, jobs

The focus turns to the US with the US Federal Reserve minutes due at 3.00am.

Later tomorrow, the all-important US non-farm payrolls will be released.
